Scuba Diving in South Goa &
Grand Island.
Grand Island is our flagship trip — a 45-minute boat ride into the Arabian Sea, dropping onto a reef in 20 to 30 metres of water. If you’re coming to Goa for one dive, this is the one to book.
What’s down there
Grand Island (also called Ilha Grande) sits about 40 kilometres off Vasco da Gama, at the mouth of the Zuari river. Below the surface you’ll find reef fish schooling in the current, moray eels tucked into rock crevices, lionfish, parrotfish, and (with luck) the odd reef shark or turtle passing through.
Visibility runs 8–15 metres through most of the season and clears to 20 metres or more on the best winter days. The water sits at 26–30°C — warm enough that no wetsuit is required.
Turbo Tunnel
A shallow gully at 12–15m with reef fish schools passing overhead. Usually the first dive site of the day.
Suzy’s Wreck
An old cargo ship at ~28m, encrusted with growth and home to lionfish, batfish, and moray eels. A step up in depth — ask us before booking if you want this specifically.
Umbrella Reef
The signature Grand Island dive — a sloping reef down to 22m with coral formations, reef fish, and the clearest water on the site.
Shelter Cove
Calmer water on the leeward side, good for slower dives and photography.
What the package includes
- Certified instructor, one-to-one, from surface to reef and back.
- Full scuba gear (mask, fins, BCD, regulator, tank).
- Boat transfer from South Goa jetty to Grand Island and back.
- Morning snacks, light lunch, and soft drinks on the boat.
- Free pickup and drop from any North Goa hotel.
The day, hour by hour
7:00–8:00 AM — pickup from your hotel. 9:00 AM — report to the jetty, briefing and gear-fitting. 9:45 AM — boat leaves for Grand Island. 10:30 AM — anchor, gear up, in the water. Back at the jetty by 2:00–2:30 PM, hotel drop by 3:30 PM.
Who it’s for
Anyone who wants Goa’s best dive site — first-timers included. If you’ve never dived before, you’ll be with an instructor one-to-one the entire time. If you have prior experience, tell us and we’ll match you to the deeper sites.
