Dive Site Guide
Scuba Diving at
Baga Beach.
The easiest way into the water in Goa. No boat ride, no jetty to reach — you walk out from Baga, meet your instructor, gear up on the sand, and go.
What makes it easy
Baga is the closest we come to a walk-in dive. If you’re staying in Baga, Calangute, or Candolim, your pickup drops you at the sand. Briefing, gear check, and you’re in the water within an hour of arriving. No jetty transfer, no open-sea crossing.
The dive itself sits at 8–12 metres — shallow enough that instructors have full oversight, deep enough to feel like a real dive. Bottom time is short (10–15 minutes typical) but the total experience — from arrival to being out — wraps in about 2–3 hours.
8–12 metres
First-timer friendly — enough water above you to feel “down there,” not so much that pressure becomes an issue.
Beach walk-in
Gear up on the sand, walk in, sink. No jetty, no boat, no waiting.
Small reef fish, sand critters
Baga’s underwater is quieter than Grand Island — damselfish, small wrasse, sand-dwelling species.
2–3 hours
Half-morning trip — you’re back on the beach in time for a proper lunch and the rest of your day.
Who Baga is for
Pick Baga if you want the cheapest, quickest introduction to scuba in Goa — the “try it once” option. If you decide you love it, book Grand Island for the real deal.
